Context

The situation

Beauty clinics and vehicle rentals in Indonesia take bookings through long forms, then confirm deposits one WhatsApp chat at a time and reconcile everything in spreadsheets.

The problem. Replace that routine with one link: a customisable booking funnel, deposits through a payment gateway, and a dashboard — without any tenant needing a developer.

Approach

Key decisions

  1. 01

Let the database refuse double bookings

Reservations are written through one code path with a Postgres exclusion constraint per seat, so concurrent requests can’t book the same slot.

  2. 02

Money goes straight to the tenant

Deposits are paid into each tenant’s own Mayar account. Their API key is sealed per tenant, and booking status only changes after the payment is verified server-side.

  3. 03

    One registry, many interfaces

A single endpoint registry generates the REST API, OpenAPI docs, llms.txt and an MCP server, all calling the same service functions as the dashboard.

  4. 04

    Self-serve without abuse

Email-verified signup with a 14-day trial; repeated trials are detected from HMAC-hashed signals without blocking legitimate users.
